Elmendorf Tearing Strength Tester TF140A는 다양한 직포의 Tear Strength를 측정하기 위해 사용되며(Elmendorf method), 종이, 플라스틱 천, 필름, 전기 테이프, 판금 및 기타 재료의 Tear Strength를 측정하는 데에도 사용될 수 있다. 반면, Elmendorf 테스터는 시험 중 찢어지는 방향이 바뀔 수 있기 때문에 희소 직물이나 스트레치 소재에는 적용되지 않습니다.
